Level 2 NVQ in Principles of Health and Safety For the Workplace

Suitable for

This qualification is designed for candidates who are not health and safety professionals. Level 2 signifies competence which involves the application of knowledge and skills of health and safety procedures.

Method of Delivery

The assessment is undertaken at the candidate’s own site by an Awarding Body approved Assessor. This reduces disruption to the candidates normal day to day work programme, which can occur with some training programmes, where the candidate has to leave the site to be trained in a classroom setting.

The award requires the candidate to build a portfolio and answer a small multiple choice test paper on completion of the award.

Recognition

On successful completion of this qualification candidates receive an NVQ Certificate of Achievement along with their portfolio which has recorded their achievement to keep as reference.

The achievement of the award allows a candidate, to progress to the NVQ level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety Practice.

Health and Safety Occupational Practice Level 2

In the Health and Safety Level 2 there is only one unit to complete, below are the outcomes you will achieve:

• Understand the principles of workplace Health and Safety.
• Understand the method and objective of risk assessment.
• Understand accident and incident investigation and reporting.
• Understand Health and Safety communication and the environment.
• Understand common hazards and their control.
  

At the end of the qualification a multiple choice test paper will need to be completed.
