Continuing Competence Refresher Course
In England and Wales the CIWM (WAMITAB) Operator Competence Scheme has a requirement for individuals to keep their competence up to date. Therefore all competent persons falling within the Scheme will be required to demonstrate ‘Continuing Competence' and this will be appropriate to the level of risk posed by the facility so that it remains proportional.
Who is it For?
Site managers who hold a Certificate of Technical Competence (CoTC) or Operator Competence Certificate (OCC) are now required to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD). CIWM (WAMITAB) has to ensure that CoTC and OCC holders are up-to-date. To achieve this, CoTC and OCC holders must take a short, computer-based, multiple choice test every two years.
How does it Work?
The half day refresher course is a short revision course that covers key aspects, and related matters that CoTC and OCC holders are expected to know and could be tested on.
The course can be run at our office in the Redditch or on site with minimum of 5 attendees.
Each individual will be provided with a comprehensive revision folder which is used during the course to make notes and references during the interactive powerpoint presentation, delivered by a Qualified Assessor who has first-hand experience and knowledge on taking the Continuing Competence test.

Generic Section (Legislation, Health and Safety & Environmental Protection)

Technical Activity (e.g. the COTC / OCC that you hold)

Following your refresher course you are able to take your test at QSP's office the same day. As QSP are the only CIWM (WAMITAB) approved centre offering the Refresher Course and CIWM (WAMITAB) Competency Testing* on the Same Day!
