What Does the Qualification Cover?
Learners complete six mandatory units:
OCS01 – Maintain health and safety in the waste and resource management industry
OCS02 – Manage the environmental impact of work activities

OCS10 – Manage and maintain systems for responding to emergencies
OCS39 – Manage and maintain a restored closed landfill site
OCS65 – Manage an inspection visit from regulatory bodies
These units ensure competence across environmental compliance, site safety, maintenance, emergency preparedness and regulatory interaction.
Entry Requirements
This is an open-entry qualification, meaning no previous qualifications are required.
However, learners must:
Be employed in a suitable operational role, or
Have access to a working composting environment to gather real workplace evidence.
