England and Wales under the Environmental Permitting Regulations

Northern Ireland under the Waste Management Licensing (Amendment) Regulations 2015

How Is the Qualification Delivered?

What Does the Qualification Cover?

To achieve MROC6b, learners must complete six mandatory units:

OCS01 – Maintain health and safety in the waste and resource management industry

OCS02 – Manage the environmental impact of work activities

OCS05 – Manage the movement, sorting and storage of waste

OCS12 – Manage the reception of non-hazardous waste

OCS24 – Manage transfer and disposal from non-hazardous waste transfer and recovery operations

OCS65 – Manage an inspection visit from regulatory bodies

These units ensure learners understand safe working practices, environmental controls, waste storage procedures and compliance with regulatory inspections.

Entry Requirements

This is an open-entry qualification, meaning no previous qualifications are required.
However, learners must:

Be employed in a relevant operational role, or

Access to a real operational setting for workplace assessment

Assessment is entirely workplace-based, so site access is essential.
