What WAMITAB Training Is Really Like

If you’ve never done WAMITAB training before, it’s easy to assume it’s like school.

It’s not.

No classrooms.

No big exams.

No cramming the night before.

And that’s exactly why some people find it easy—and others get completely stuck.

What it actually involves

WAMITAB training is based around proving you can do your job in real life.

So instead of revising, you’ll be:

  • Collecting evidence

  • Writing about your work

  • Speaking with an assessor

The portfolio (this is where it gets real)

Everything revolves around your portfolio.

Think of it as:

A record of what you do at work, backed up with proof

This might include:

  • Documents you’ve created

  • Photos of tasks

  • Observations

Why people struggle

It’s not because it’s “too hard”

It’s usually because:

  • They don’t know what evidence to collect

  • They leave it too late

  • They don’t get enough guidance

The role of your assessor

A good assessor will:

  • Keep you on track

  • Explain things clearly

  • Help you improve your evidence

A bad one? Slows everything down

How to make it easier on yourself

  • Start collecting evidence early

  • Don’t overthink it

  • Ask questions constantly

  • Keep things organised

Final thought

WAMITAB training isn’t about being academic.

It’s about being consistent - and having the right support behind you
